General Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Director, Program Management with the oversight of all related projects in their assigned program portfolio.  The PM controls and is responsible for successful project execution, including budget, schedule, and risk management.

Essential Job Functions

Manage, monitor and report cost schedule and technical performance of company programs.

  • Work with Engineering and Production Teams to ensure delivery schedules are maintained.
  • Identify, track and mitigate program risks to minimize cost and schedule impact to program and develop recovery plans when required.
  • Aid in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes.
  • Coordinate preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial details of contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and administrative requirements imposed by the contract in coordination with all project stakeholders.
  • Ensures adherence to plans and schedules--develop solutions to program problems.
  • Ensure cross-discipline integration within the contract to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Prepare program status reviews and other formal reviews for program stakeholders.
  • Review all financial and technical reports before release to program stakeholders.
  • Communicate issues and solutions to program stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Manage Systems and Processes within the SYNEXXUS Improvement Program in accordance with CMMI best practices and actively engage in the continuous improvement of processes.Provide program status updates as required to the Director, Program Management.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Bachelor of Science in Management required. Engineering with management experience or Management with a technical background a plus. Federal and/or government experience preferred.
  • Three to seven years’ acquisition or program management experience required. Both commercial and federal project experience preferred. 
  • PMP, FAC-P/PM Mid-Level, FAC/COR or DAWIA Level 2 certification in Program Management highly desired.
  • Direct experience in managing multi-task prime contracts and subcontracts of various types and complexity. Experience with fixed-firm-price contracts and cost-plus contracts preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in conducting requirements analysis, resource allocation, project costing, deliverable tracking, schedule and financial data monitoring, and reporting. 
  • Must have a very high degree of attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of the guidelines provided by the FAR, DFAR, and DoD 5000 series required. 
  • Familiarity with CMMI Level-3 certification preferred. 
  • Must have skill in using personal computer and all Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience with project management software, such as WorkFront or AtTask preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance Required.
